ABOUT TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH
Trinity Episcopal Church is a rapidly growing missionary church of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina. We are one of the few Episcopal churches in the southern half of Wake County, located in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. We welcome those seeking a church of any denomination or no denomination at all (non-denominational). We want to be a place
of welcome where anyone can come to know God through Jesus Christ and become
energetic and vital members of our faith community. We are growing both in
faith and in numbers as we seek to serve Christ in everyone we meet.
OUR
HISTORY
Trinity
Church was founded in 1956 and began meeting regularly at the Fuquay-Varina
Presbyterian Church. We began meeting in our own building beginning in
early 1957. From 1959 through 2001, Trinity used part-time clergy or ministers
who came in only on Sundays to supply the congregation. In 1986, the congregation
came into union with the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina. In 1992,
looking forward to a time of future expansion and Fuquay-Varina's rapid
growth, Trinity purchased an adjacent 3.1 acres of property.
OUR
CHURCH
Trinity
is community-minded and offers assistance where needed. Our building has
given birth to other Christian congregations by allowing them to meet
initially in our worship space until they are able to have their own buildings.
We have also housed such community service groups as Alcoholics Anonymous,
Spanish language classes, and a day care center.
OUR PEOPLE
The congregation of Trinity strives to extend kindness wherever it may be needed, to love our neighbors as ourselves and respect the dignity of every person. Our lay people exercise a vital role in the governance and ministry of our church. We have numerous activities and ministries that build fellowship and form us as Christians. We welcome everyone to join us in as many of these events as they wish. View the calendar and ministries sections to learn more.
OUR
SERVICES AND SYMBOLISM
At Trinity
our service is rich in the tradition of the Episcopal Church of the United States. We combine liturgical (following a set pattern) services,Sacraments, and strong Biblical preaching and theology. We uphold the Bible and worship with the Book of Common Prayer. Our worship invites the
congregation to participate in the Eucharist. We normally sit to listen, stand to sing,
and kneel or stand to pray. Our services are steeped in meaning and symbolism
that point us to God in our worship. Holy communion may be received by all baptized Christians, not only members of the Episcopal Church. |
