MEET OUR Priest

The Vicar of Trinity Episcopal is the the Rev. Sara C. Batson.

Her main spiritual gifts are Administration, Church Growth, and Development, Preaching/Teaching. and Pastoral care. Rev. Batson was selected by the Pinceton Seminary faculty for the David H.C. Read preaching prize. Biblical preaching continues to be the main focus of her ministry

Before coming to Trinity Episcopal, Rev, Batson served as Rector for 9 years at Christ Episcopal Church in Media , Pennsylvania. Prior to her ministry in Media, PA., she served the following parishes in New Jersery: Holly Comforter in Rahway, St. MIchaels's Church in Trenton, and St. Luke's in Metuchen. Before becoming Rector of Christ Church Media, Rev. Batson served as an assisting priest at Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr, PA. She also served in numberous capacties in the Diocese of Pennsylvania including 3 years as Dean of the Delware Deanery and 5 years on the Commission on Clergy Salaries and Pension. She also served on the Board of Trustees of Episcopal Community Services.

Rev. Batson was born in Tennessee and grew up in Kentucky. She graduated from the University of Evansville ( Indiana) in 1985 where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She practiced nursing and was a health care executive befroe attending the Princeton Theological Seminary . She holds a Masters degree in Divinity from Princeton . after her Masters degree she wnet to a received a diploma in Anglican Studies from the General Theeological Seminary in NY. Rev. Batson also has an advanced certification in Bio-Medical Ethics from Columbia Unversity

Rev. Sara Batson is married to Jim Brunnquell. Her husband was relocated to the RTP in April of 2008 . With the transfer Rev. Sara Batson became the Vicar of Trinity Episcopal. Trinity Episcopal is excited about having such a dynamic Vicar who comes with lots of experience in the growth and pastoral care of congregations.

The Leadership Team, a.k.a. Vestry, meets monthly to study Scripture, pray, and discern the direction in which God wants Trinity to go. They also conduct the day-to-day business of the church with regard to maintaining our physical plant and our financial obligations. Visitors to the meetings are welcome. Check the calendar for date and time of meetings.
